Unum No Cost & Supplementary Insurance

Life/AD&D and Long-Term Disability (LTD) Insurance

Employees who work 30 or more hours per week are eligible for Basic Life/AD&D insurance administered by UNUM and will receive this coverage at no cost to them.

There is also an option to enroll in a contributory LTD plan with a benefit of 60% of your monthly earnings (up to $6,000 for non-managers).

Basic Life/AD&D

This coverage can provide money for your family if you are diagnosed with a terminal illness.  You keep the coverage for a set term (while you are working at Wiss).  If you die during that term, the money can help your family pay for basic living expenses, final arrangements, tuition, and more.

Your employer is offering this coverage at no cost to you.

Long Term Disability

LTD can replace part of your income if injury or illness keeps you out of work for a long period of time.  Protecting your income when you can’t work is very important!

Your employer is paying a portion of the cost of the coverage (60%).  You can use the money however you choose while out on claim.

This insurance may cover a variety of conditions and injuries. Here are UNUM’s top reasons for LTD claims:

  • Cancer
  • Back disorders
  • Injuries
  • Cardiovascular
  • Joint disorders
